January 25
Congratulations to the West Central One Act cast and crew for their outstanding performance yesterday. They received first place votes from all three judges and took home the first place trophy which means they will be moving on to the state festival. The following actors received outstanding acting awards: Sophia Prostrollo, Lauren Murphy, Elijah Hoey, BreAnn Heider, and Ethan Mitchell. The One-Act will advance to State and will perform at O'Gorman High School on Friday, February 3rd at 4:30.

Recognizing outstanding special education staff. DOE’s Office of Special Education Programs would like to honor an individual who works in the special education field and has positively impacted the life of a student. A parent/guardian can nominate any staff member working with students in special education including (but not limited to) teachers, paraprofessionals, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and special education directors. Andie Ingalls 10th grade winning the WCHS American Legion Oratorical. Madelyn Cain finished 2nd in the competition.
There were six participants in this year's American Legion Oratorical competition.
January 16
Power Lifting just took four participants to McCook Central Invite. Olivia Hofer won Her weight class and is the strongest female lifter. Alex Lilefloren, Anthony Bjeergaard, and Ashton Engen all competed as well and recorded scores in their first meet ever.

he West Central School District requires that all Kindergarten-eligible children (who turn 5 on or before September 1, 2023) be screened. West Central will hold three different scheduling options for Kindergarten Screening. The first option will be on Tuesday, 2/28 from 4:00-8:00 PM at WC Humboldt Elementary. There will also be options on Thursday, 3/2 from 4:00-8:00 PM and Friday, 3/3 from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM at the WC Hartford Elementary.
