A special congratulations to Humboldt Elementary's January Students of Character. These students received the most Trojan Tributes during the month of January for being responsible, respectful, and safe in school. West Central High School's school counselor, Amy Lupkes, was honored in Washington, D.C. for being the South Dakota school counselor of the year. She joined colleagues from the other 49 states at an event last week.
In 9th grade World Geography, students are learning about food cultures, starting right here at home with some South Dakota traditions. Thank you to Creekside Meats and Mrs. Payne for providing South Dakota-made kuchen for Foodie Friday in 9th grade World Geography!
The fashion design and interior design class toured the Old Courthouse Museum, 8th & Railroad, and the Pettigrew Museum today. They had a great time seeing the historical part of downtown Sioux Falls, the styles of a Queen Anne home, and the artifacts. There was even a photo of the Trojan Marching Band from 1996 at the Old Courthouse Museum!

Congratulations to WC One-Act for placing second at Regions. Several students also won Outstanding Actor Awards: Camden Bjergaard, BreAnn Heider, Darin Wendt, Liam Murphy, Sydney Skari, Avaya Carlson, Ana Underwood, Mason Kennedy, and Kinley Skots.

The Girs'/Boys' DAK XII Wrestling Tournament will take place at Dell Rapids on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Here is some important information about the tournament:
1. Start time is 10:00 a.m.
2. Entrances for the event are on the East side of the MS/HS. Spectators may enter either the North or South Middle School Doors.
3. Ticket prices are set by the Dak 12 - $10 for adults and $5 for students. Dell Rapids has card readers so cards will be accepted.
4. The Girls tournament will take place in the Middle School Gym. The Boys tournament will take place in the High School Gym. Both gyms are located at 1216 North Garfield Ave.
5. Fans may sit on the North side of the High School Gym or in the upper level of the gym. The South side of the gym will be for student-athletes, coaches, and tournament workers only.

On Sunday, January 18, third-grade students from both Hartford and Humboldt Elementary Schools had the opportunity to perform the National Anthem at the Sioux Falls Skyforce game under the direction of Mrs. Sam Meirose and Miss Anna Klocke. The students did an outstanding job representing our schools with confidence and pride. Well done, third graders!
