Prior to winter break, we celebrated our December Trojan Tribute winners. The sixth grade winner was Levi Larson who celebrated with Sonny Tewalt. Jace Bowen was the seventh grade winner and chose to have lunch with Kameron Kraft. Our eighth grade winner was Erin McCann and she chose Kinsley Schrader to celebrate with her.

The middle school appreciates the support of Dairy Queen for sponsoring the meal.

Thank you to Congressman Dusty Johnson and staff for visiting West Central today! It was great to show Congressman Johnson the exciting happenings of West Central and for our students to get to hear from a U.S. House of Representatives member representing us and our state.

A special congratulations to Humboldt Elementary's December Students of Character. These students received the most Trojan Tributes during the month of December for being responsible, respectful, and safe in school. The start time of the varsity games could change, depending on the lower level games. A rolling schedule will be followed. Please plan accordingly.

Monday, December 15th will be our School-Wide PBIS Dress Up Day for December! Let’s celebrate our PBIS focus of be responsible, be respectful, and be safe by showing our West Central Trojan spirit in festive holiday apparel or cozy winter wear.

MSGBB games vs. Dell Rapids will only be played at Hartford Elementary tonight, December 11, 2025. Start time is 4:00 p.m. There will NOT be MSGBB games at Humboldt Elementary tonight.

The Girls JV & Varsity basketball games at Baltic today have been moved up. The JV will play in Baltic at 4:30 with the varsity to follow.

Congratulations to our American Legion Oratorical Contest participants! They did a wonderful job representing their school and speaking about issues vital to our nation!

Congratulations to Sophie Rolfson on her decision to further her education and play softball at Dordt next year.

Last Tuesday, our Hartford Elementary K–2 students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the annual Giving Event hosted by the Hartford Area Optimist Club. Each year, the Optimist Club provides donated gifts for every student to choose one special item to give to someone meaningful in their lives. They supply the gifts, wrapping paper, and bags—and set everything up to make the experience memorable for our students.

Our Hartford Elementary students had a fantastic time shopping, and it’s always heartwarming to see the thoughtful gifts they select and the reasons behind their choices!

A big THANK YOU to the members of the Hartford Area Optimist Club for all of their hard work in putting on this event. We are also grateful to everyone who donates gifts to make this tradition possible. It truly is one of the best events of the year!

Today, we celebrated our Hartford Elementary November Terrific Trojans! Two students from each grade were selected from our Terrific Trojan nominees for the month, and to mark the occasion, they got to pie Mrs. Bahrenfuss in the face with whipped cream! It was a fun, laughter-filled way to celebrate their hard work and positive choices!
